Launch event and first edition of the Artist(s) Survival Organisation (ASO). An Organisation dedicated to challenging and subverting the economic structures and systems that existing in the cultural sector. While these systems often serve the consumers of culture, ASO seeks to reclaim and reframe them as tools for artists themselves to utilize.

The Dutch word "aso" is often used to describe someone who behaves outside of accepted social norms—rude, disruptive.
In English, the closest would be "scum."

Increasingly, this is has become how artists and cultural workers are being framed by rising far-right regimes: as cultural outsiders, troublemakers, leeches, threats to conservative ideologies. If that’s the label we’re being given, then let's embrace being ASO (SCUM) and reclaim it.
